Volkswagen merchandise brochure

Building on the success of 2007’s merchandise brochure

Following on from the original, very successful brochure in 2007 and the launch of the Retro brochure last year, Volkswagen challenged us to create a brand new concept for the launch of their latest range of merchandise.

Stripping it back to basics, we created a theme about detail: the detail paid to every piece of merchandise, whether it’s the stitching on wallets or the enamel on cufflinks, and related it to a narrative about family life.

An additional element in this brochure was a reader competition for the chance to win £250 worth of Volkswagen merchandise. Following the detail theme, a letter was cleverly hidden in each spread of the brochure, and once collected and rearranged, spelled out a relevant word. Submission of the word into a dedicated microsite provided Volkswagen with up–to–date customer details, and customers the chance to win a prize.
