Not that we’re encouraging gambling, but...

Never let it be said that we’re advocates of the dark art of gambling (just say no, kids), but we have to admit that we’re solely responsible for putting a one–armed bandit on a website for Trade Parts Specialists (TPS) garages.

We hasten to add that no money exchanges hands, in case the Inland Rev are reading. But this little digital delight IS getting garage workers dangerously hooked on visiting our all–singing, all–dancing TPS Heroes site and clicking away to watch the gambling fruit fly.

All TPS staff have to do is sell a certain product to earn game plays. They’re then given access to the fruit machine and if they match one, two or three TPS shields, they’re rewarded with anything from high street vouchers to PlayStation 3s.

As well as creating a sea of monsters frothing at the mouth in their fervour to play, the end result was a team of people infinitely more knowledgeable about the range of products they were selling, and motivated to push products to customers. Quids in.
